遊びに来ている友人4人家族
と一緒に、一泊ヨット泊のクルージングに出かけました。
ヨットの中のソファで
ごきげんなMia
心地よい風でセーリングをしながら、マタイ湾 に到着。
友人の家族(特にお父さんと息子さん)は、素潜り・スピア フィッシング(魚突き)が趣味なので、
途中、深い水深の海域にあって、急に浅くなる岩場などで、素潜りを何度も楽しみました。
私も、ちょうどMiaがお昼寝していたので、ゆっくり素潜りを満喫。
キング フィッシュ(ヒラマサ) を目の前にして、ダウトレス湾 の新しい海の表情を発見。
感激しました。
私の彼も、潜ってキングフィッシュを目にしたとたん、血が騒いだのか(笑)、
スピアガン(銛)を友人に借りて、その一発で、人生初、キング フィッシュを射止めました！
お見事！
11歳の息子さんも、自立した上級ダイバーで、
小さな体のどこにエネルギーがあるのか、と感心するほど、
休む暇なく、素もぐりをしていました。
一度、キング フィッシュをしとめてみたい、といっていたのけど、
今回はこのお魚を突きました。なかなか立派なもの。
おうちにかえって、
彼と友人(お父さん)が一匹ずつとった、キング フィッシュ2匹をさばきました。
大きな魚だから、身がいっぱい！
一部をお刺身(私にとってはこれが一番!)やステーキで頂いて、
残りは、乾燥機を改造して作った自家製スモーク装置(!) を使って、スモーク フィッシュにしました。
わーい！

On the couch inside the yacht
Mia's been very happy
We had comfy sail to Matai Bay , the anchorage for the night.
Since our friends, especially the dad and the son, are (mad!) keen spear fishermen,
on the way, we often stopped to do free diving at rocks among the deep sea area.
Luckily, it was perfect timing that Mia had her siesta and I could also fully enjoy myself.
I loved the sight of Kingfish under the water while free diving
and rediscovered the beauty and richness of Doubtless Bay .
My darling also got excited to see the Kingfish and soon he was borrowing the spear gun from his mate.
First try, first go, he speared the kingfish for the first time!
well-done!
Our friend's eleven years old boy is also a good diver.
He impressed me with his relatively deep diving many many times for his little body.
He wanted to spear kingfish, but for now
got this one. good job!
Back home,
my darling and his friend cleaned 2 kingfish that they caught one each.
There are plenty of meat as it is such a big fish!
We ate some as sashimi, I thought that was the best, and some as steak.
My darling smoked the rest with his home-made smoker which was converted from the old dryer(!) .
Hooray!
